The Roland V-1HD+ is a very good quality, small-format HDMI video switcher and mixer. Very simple to operate and learn, the Roland V-1HD+ offers four standard-size HDMI inputs. These inputs are sent to two standard-size HDMI outputs: one for the Program (the actual output – your screens or projectors) and one for the Monitor (a collection of all the inputs currently present – your monitor). Picture-in-picture is also very intuitively laid out across the front panel of the V-1HD+
, and playing with this unit – even with the most basic of HDMI switching/streaming knowledge – you’ll be able to mix between two HDMI sources, fading one out and the other in, as well as using picture-in-picture to add to your video presentation. Other inputs at the rear of the unit include:
Roland V-1HD+ Rear Panel Inputs and Outputs:
2 Balanced Jack Outputs – which can be set to track the HDMI input’s audio
2 Balanced XLR microphone preamps with phantom power available and gain levels on dedicated physical hard knobs
2 RCA Line Inputs – also on one dedicated hard knob
4 HDMI Inputs – which can either follow the HDMI audio or ignore it and follow routed mic or line inputs
2 HDMI Outputs – one being a monitor (your monitor at FOH with the menu on-screen display) and the other being Program (signal sent to your screen and projectors/stream)
1 USB port for firmware updates and PC connection
1 USB port for memory and program storage/transport – to a USB stick
RS-232 In and Outputs – so the V-1HD+ can either be controlled by RS-232 or control other RS-232 serial communication units.
And to round off the rear panel of the Roland V-1HD+ – a standard 12V–17V power supply (PSU) input and an on/off switch.
